With a new millenium
comes New Media. What is it, and why is it different from old media?
In short, new technologies: the Internet, CD-ROM, DVD. These new forms
of media have changed and are continually changing the way we communicate.
There are millions of web sites and pages. The Internet and E-Commerce
are predicted to be a trillion dollar business in a couple of years.
You can listen to a jazz radio station in San Diego while reading a
web page in Sidney, Australia.
But despite the
speed of communication, the volume of information and the constancy
of change, humanity in many ways remains the same. Emotions, desires,
basic needs. And the basics of communication are still just that, the
basics. Good writing, good design.
What do I bring
to the table? Some 30 years as a communicator - writer, radio journalist,
photographer, videographer, editor. And now I'm learning new skills
in various forms of New Media.
